After a stormy Friday, Saturday was beautiful and so I went to the art fair at the University of Miami. I've been experimenting with Topaz Texture Effects and these are a few of the shots using this plugin.
This next (film) image is printed on Silver Halide Fuji Crystal Archive paper, exposed using light and processed with RA-4 liquid photochemistry.
I saw some beautiful images that were printed on aluminum with a dye sublimation process. Some of the bigger images were shot with view cameras and film. Here is a link to an explanation of this process:
There is a similar process that uses something called Chromaluxe. I need to look into this. Here is one link I found.
Spoke to David Sigel, an artist at the fair. He says he doesn't have a website or try to sell on sites like Fine Art America because he feels that his images are copied and reproduced. He makes his living by travelling around Florida to art fairs in his pickup truck. His tent costs about $1200 and will not blow away in a strong wind like some of the less expensive models nearby. He plans to be at the Delray Art Fair next week.
